About the Band
Cheryl Kain is an unabashed Francophile and instigator of the French influence of Robertchez. Influenced by her late father, a jazz drummer for hotels in the Catskills, she grew up on Ella, Sarah, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. She loves singing in mais oui, French, but also in Portuguese, Spanish and occasionally Russian. Schooled in art song and opera and gigged in jazz and pop, Cheryl’s sensitive, vulnerable delivery allow audiences to be both moved and soothed.-
Roe Osborn is a creative powerhouse whose music transcends jazz, bluegrass, folk, swing and manouche. He famously plays gigs with his big blond upright bass, Marilyn, and recently released his book, Framing a House. Roe’s Jack Russell, Humphrey, is a vital part of the enterprise and accompanies him to every gig. Roe is an award-winning songwriter. His new CD, What if…, was released in 2011.-
Bert Jackson plays guitar, or does it play him? He applies his unique approach on acoustic & electric guitar, and ukulele. When not mentoring and promoting other musicians or performing with one of his many groups, he cooks dinner for Robertchez. A prolific songwriter, he is also working on a recording of originals, Imaginary Journey, due this spring. Oh, and he’s full of puns. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
